Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
My son told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
