Large-scale Russian Attacks Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and applying restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults succeed evenings of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
