Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the US has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
