Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
American performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per news outlets.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
